お木曳は、伊勢神宮の式年遷宮で使用される御用材を、人々の手で曳いて奉納する伝統行事です。
式年遷宮は約1300年にわたり続けられてきた神事で、20年に一度、社殿を新しく建て替えながら、技術や作法、祈りの心を次の世代へ受け継いでいきます。
お木曳は、単に木材を運ぶための作業ではありません。
多くの人々が力を合わせ、一つの願いを未来へつないでいく象徴的な営みでもあります。
古淡に飾られているお木曳の模型は、そうした日本の伝統文化と、人から人へ受け継がれていく想いを伝えるために設えています。

Okihiki is a traditional event associated with the Shikinen Sengu of Ise Jingu, during which sacred timber is ceremonially pulled and offered by the hands of many people.
Shikinen Sengu is a sacred tradition that has continued for more than 1,300 years. Every twenty years, the shrine buildings are rebuilt, passing on architectural skills, ritual practices, and the spirit of prayer from one generation to the next.
Okihiki is more than the transportation of timber.
