Guardian of the Land | The Spirit that Protects This Place
日本の神道では、それぞれの土地に、その場所を守る「地主神（じぬしがみ）」がいるとされています。
そのため、私たちが利用している土地や宅地は、大地の神様からお借りしているものと考えられてきました。
こうした考えから、家々や土地には「地の神様」をお祀りし、日々の安全や安寧を願う風習が生まれました。
この古淡の地においても、「大地主大神（おおとこぬしのおおかみ）」を主祭神として、敷地内の祠にてお祀りしております。
目には見えませんが、この土地を支える存在に、そっと思いを向けてみてください。
In Shinto tradition, each land is believed to have its own guardian spirit, known as a “jinushigami.”
For this reason, the land we use is not simply owned, but understood as something received from the greater presence of the earth.
From this belief, it became customary in Japan to enshrine a guardian of the land and offer prayers for safety and well-being.
Here at KOTAN, we honor “Ootokonushi-no-Okami” as the principal deity of this land, enshrined quietly within the grounds. Though unseen, you may gently turn your awareness to what sustains this place.
